Telemarketers Beware...

I hate getting that call in the middle of dinner (or really, at any other time of day)...some foreign person trying to get me to agree to participate in some 15 minute survey (which they try to convince you is 5 minutes). When I was younger, I took after my dad and gave the people the hardest time ever. My favorite is when he would answer the phone and pretend he couldn't hear the person on the other end. He would repeat the word hello over and over, until the person on the other end was either screaming hello or would just give up! Then I realized that wasn't nice. So I stopped answering the phone. The calls didn't stop until that wonderful act that stopped all the unnecessary calls.

Then it happened. We are on some list and get calls all the time again. I answer and promptly tell them to hold on a minute...walk straight-faced up to hubby and hand him the phone, "someone's calling for you!" Once he answers, my straight face turns into an all out laughter. Or while it's still ringing I say, "Oh, it's for you," hit the talk button and walk away....

Now we have Kp. Ohhhhhhh, how to begin to explain how funny it is. Unless you've heard her talk, you just can't fully grasp how funny it is. Just today a friend stopped by to pick up some food and overheard Kp asking me a question. She was dumbfounded as she couldn't understand a word Kp said...so take that and put her on a phone, talking to another foreign speaking person, and I was rolling on the floor!

On the really good side...I can finally understand MOST of what my kids say to me (I still get a few key words really wrong though - makes for good laughs though!)
