Overdue Updates

I am going to forgo some of my morning rituals to get this post out...

We talked with the pediatrician late last week and all the tests were back on Kb and Kp. They are 100% fine! God has just totally blessed us with the wonderful news! Because we had no background information on them, we had no idea what we would find. We did learn that although Kp is still quite young, she had a very rough start. The pediatrician was amazed at her immune system - we were just amazed at God. They couldn't even find one parasite! We do have our minor issues to deal with but nothing that isn't common here!

Kp, Ky and I are struggling to get school completed on these beautiful days. We only have a little over 20 days left, which isn't too bad, but when the sun is shining (and it doesn't often do that here), it is so hard to stay inside! I have also decided to continue Kp a couple of days each week through the summer so that she has the time she needs to complete Kindergarten. There is so much for her to learn - I was even thinking of finding a supplemental program that would focus on English as a Second Language. She needs something. The whole "I" says i as in Indian - where to begin? They aren't taught phonics, and she has less than a clue what an Indian is, and to get her to say the I sound is just difficult in itself! She has made great progress though - I am just relying on the fact that kids are little sponges and will absorb it all without really having to "teach" them! In just a few weeks, she knows all her vowel sounds - can hear them at the beginning of words and can even hear some that are inside the words. And, although she is left-handed, is doing amazingly well at cursive. That first day I reconsidered my handwriting program, but after the first week, she really caught on and is doing wonderful!

Kb and Kd are learning who is the "alpha dog." However, Kb is getting a little more brave these days. He will actually run up to Kd and initiate a duel! As long as no one begins crying, I let it go. Boys will be boys and I think it is good for them to wrestle around - as long as they are not trying to hurt each other. The boys will come in and out while the girls are doing school and Kd is picking up a lot. We are even working on a memory verse that all of them say different parts. I don't think that the boys have any idea what I am asking them to do - or the words that I am asking them to repeat! It's all a learning experience!

Kd comes up with some funny theories on life - as all 3 year olds seem to do...the latest was he told me when he squeezes his bum cheeks together his pee come out faster???? And when I tried to repeat back to him what he said, I couldn't get it all out (due to laughter) and he thought I couldn't say "faster" so he sounded it out for me (like he hears us do for Kp and Kb). Say "fa", now "sir"...when he split the word up - it became a new word all together and even funnier! And I think that I have posted this before (or at least I meant to), Kd came to me one morning and told me he didn't want to brush his teeth or need to 'cause they were already blue. What do I say? These type of questions make me immediately tired. And after a slight battle of will, he went up to brush his blue teeth (which were not even the slightest bit blue????)!

Well - now it is after 9 and I have got to get my day back on track!

- My wonderful "friend" is back. Can't seem to get rid of him - this is his 3rd visit and I am tempted to name him now! I guess we all bring back treasures from our vacations - but this one has got to go ;-)
