In the past 24 hours, I have done a tremendous amount...so much so that it feels as though yesterday morning was days away!
Breakfast was thrown up by one, were they sick or just not ready to be forced to eat upon immediately waking up?
Gotta get to Pittsburgh to have a test read, so in the car we all are at 9:30 (with Grandma for support)...everyone was cleaned (including a shower for the one who threw up), hair fixed and remotely matching clothes.
Other side of Shelocta, round #2 came up, so back home we went. How was I going to get this time sensitive test read with a sick child? Hummmm? While that was going through my head, I hear, "Is that my vomit, Mommy? Mommy, is that my vomit?" Nice. In my head, I am thinking, "how many times can he say "vomit?" I love "vomit!" Mental note: gotta teach them Mommy calls it "throw up" so that mommy doesn't join in!
After numerous calls to several doctors offices, yes, she can have the test read here...then off with the 3 to the pediatrician...Grandma stayed with the one sick one that was sleeping.
Pediatrician's office with all 3 monkeys was entertaining...all of whom had the silly bug!
Then to the hospital for follow-ups, all with the 3 monkeys with the silly bug! This is the point at which I realized Kd had his shirt and his shoes on backwards and I mentioned this while registering. Once mentioned, Kd had to change them to the right way, so off went the shirt to try to fix it! Right in the middle of everything!
Then to the grocery store to get saltines, bananas and gatorade...
Then home, all before the sick one woke up...but, being no longer sick, demanded food...and a lot of it...however, cautious mommy, only gives small amounts as not to allow "vomiting" to occur again...all is well and child was fine and ate more than ever...who know what caused it???
Early this am, I had a Dr. McCoy appointment...not fun...but very funny and due to the nature of the site, I will spare the details and unfortunately the humor.
While getting ready this morning I realized I did, in fact, bring home more than the kids from Africa, so on the phone I go again!
Meanwhile, the phone rings and it is the Department of Health or something like that because one of our kids tested positive for Giardia, and apparently that is a reportable thing? So as she is going down her LONG list of questions, not listening to the fact that they just got here from Africa, and brought it with them...she is trying to figure out where they got it from. I wanted to say from poo, but refrained, let her ask the questions, politely go off and went about my day...only to have her call back with more questions cause she didn't hear me say where they came from, and apparently needed the inital information that I gave her!
Yep, did bring something home...off to the pharmacy, again, just need that secret password so that the kids can say "hi" to their uncle Jim as we fly by...(Danielle - you will appreciate that it IS one of the two things you didn't want to come home with!)
On our way to the mall for pjs for the girls becuase we don't seem to have enough and to the "market" to get food for the week all the while trying not to forget to pick up Kaiya and the sherf boys from classes - with 3 in tow...
Made it to all the places, only forgot a few things, so backtracking was involved...didn't know the password, so couldn't see Uncle Jim...but made it home and dinner is on the stove :-)
All the while, in the past 24 hours, playing super hero and solving all the world's child's problems :-)
Funny thing:
We call Kd "Boo shakes" sometimes...it evolved from when he was a baby and would shake his bum around...well say boo shakes 3 times fast and that is what our new ones thought we were saying, and since they've heard those words freely where they're from, they repeated what they thought we were saying over and over and over! Try to correct that one without laughing! That is when, as the parent, you excuse yourself to the bathroom first! If you are totally lost, just forget it...this one I cannot spell out any more!
Too cute:
Kb's prayer for lunch today...(it is hard to get the true sence of how cute this is without hearing his voice, but here it goes...)
"Father God,
bless Kp
bless Kp
bless Ky
bless...when I say lee (leave) me, Kd will lee (leave) me and when...
bless Kd
bless Mommy
bless Daddy
bless Grandma
Bless all the people
bless Mimi
bless Pa
bless G-no (Janelle)
bless Gabby
bless Pappy
bless Kristin (by the way the only one who calls her that)
Jesus Name"
and we all say Amen!
